Attending Sensing

In attending sensing a signal such as a sound, a touch, a vision, a taste, a smell penetrates through the channels of your body, of your mind, dissolving in the center of individual consciousness. Attending sensing is an intentional conscious experiencing of flowing energies (prana)  as signals flowing from outside the body inward through the physical sense organs where they are recorded as images throughout the afferent pathways of the nervous system, onward to the brain, then through the meridians to the mind and inner mechanisms (chakras) of consciousness. All of these signals are contained within and about innate intelligence at your core - the center of consciousness.

Simultaneously, flowing outward from this inner center of consciousness are the unique expressions of your experiencing of these images. This is a two-way portal of receiving and giving, connecting outer spaces and inner spaces. This mutual bonding of the individual and universal consciousness honors the integrity of the eternal bonding (medium space) which connects the “outer space” and “inner space” in a harmony of being. This eternal bonding is felt and known in the core of your being, never in the core of beliefs. This core is your natural state of eternal mutual creation. 

Through attending sensing somatically one can heighten awareness of mental and emotional systems. There are five senses and in attending sensing one can receive all 5 senses simultaneously. For example, I will focus upon sound. Sound is a peculiar phenomenon as there are many sounds that are around you, about you, and in you. In attending sensing of sounds, notice if there is resistance or bracing in the body or mind. If there is , don't judge it, don't resist it. The bracing can be perceived as noise covering or interfering with the reception of the pure signal.

Instead listen to the total movement of the sound, the gestalt of the sound, for then sound becomes the periphery and you the center, the core. 

When you listen to a speaker, allow the words of the speaker to enter through the sensory organs tracking the vibration throughout your body as the signal travels on to the center of consciousness. While attending sensing, notice when past images of criticism, judgement, fear, or greed impede the flow of energy, and discern and claim the incomplete actions causing the emotions that are blocking the flow. Claiming these actions from the core will digest them. Then you are clearing the portal for receiving and giving living flowing energies in your body and your mind. This is meditation. This is quietening the mind by removing the noise of images, allowing you to signal, express authentically, purely.

Many people meditate as an activity and as such, energy is being placed in motion. Once placed in motion, energy is experienced as emotion. Emotion is driven by motive - the motive to continue the action's motion, the motive to compensate the action's motion, and/or the motive to complete the action's motion. Attending sensing assists one to understand and heal the motives of actions.

13 portals of understanding

Attending sensing is entering a portal of understanding flowing energy, and knowing from one's core when to continue, compensate, or complete actions of the past in the present. It is not a ritual to be performed, though rituals can and do teach. Attending sensing is deeply sensing while attending deeply, from the center of consciousness, the stillness of the heart. 

Let us be quiet while attending sensing. Meditating is simply a quietening of your mind, a quietening of your body. Meditation is a beautiful thing in our life. Without meditation life is confining, isolating, perhaps a prison of over-activation and/or under-activation. Meditation brings radical transformation, radical mutation, and radical change in the mind/body mechanism. Quietening the mind can be transcendental. 

Mantra meditation is a very ancient meditation. This meditation, given in the link below, occurs through listening to the sound. Whether you listen to an outer sound - the barking of a dog, the singing of a bird, the bustle of a city, a ringing bell - or an inner sound - the heart beating, blood pulsing, the breath. What is of importance is to be attending while allowing the sound signal to penetrate your body, your mind and to join you. (You can also do this with any sensory signal i.e. aroma, taste, etc.)

It is possible for one to be chanting mantras and to remain angry, confused, and ignorant. Why? Because they do not know the ways of dual listening.  No one has taught them. Standing in the portal of attending sensing will guide you to a practice of dual listening. Attending sensing is marvelously beautiful.
