Emoting & Thinking

Emoting

Emotions are objects of the emotional body. "I emote, therefore I am." Such a statement identifies the speaker as an emoter, an object rather than a subject. A truer statement is "I am emoting therefore I am." You have to choose to subject yourself to experiencing emoting to be a 'subject.'

To identify with the emotion is to conceptualize the emotion (fixating it in the mind) rather than to feel and experience the waves of emoting throughout the body. In this way, one is an "emoter experiencing emoting of the emotion.”

Many people believe they are emotional yet do not sense their emotions as they are happening. If you are not aware of your emotions, you are lacking empathy with your own experience. Emoting is a wave frequency felt in the body and brain which expresses a past signal of an experience which may need to be understood and healed. Triggering and the re-enactment of an emoting signal which needs resolution continue unconsciously, subconsciously, and consciously, perhaps in cycles, until acknowledged, felt, and discharged. This is trauma resolution.

To say it a different way, trauma re-enactment indicates the system's natural move to complete and resolve the original overwhelm. Acting emotional when one is not feeling the emotion is symptomatic of the person's inability to feel the wave. They become an actor scripted to follow their beliefs about the traumatic event rather than discharge the emotions lodged and frozen in the connective tissues of their bodies. Understanding emoting as a receptive quality is key to healing and completing the previously unresolved actions.

Thinking

Thoughts are objects of the mental body. Identifying with objects provides a materialistic consciousness. (See Understanding and Healing 7 Levels of Consciousness) Identifying manifests one's identity, for instance, an individual born and raised in South Africa can state, "I am South African." Such a statement reveals that one identifies with being South African, that is, they think, "I am South African". The social construct of birthplace also states that they are a South African thinking, "if my body was born in South Africa or both my parents are South African, then I am South African, too." All of these are constructs of a legal and social common purpose. However, as I know what I am, I am less identified with who I am.

While standing in a portal of thinking I can be distanced from the thoughts and thought forms, while simultaneously attending, imaging, empathizing, focusing, and expressing. Thinking integrates many levels of consciousness.

Descartes’s statement "I think, therefore I am" portrays Descartes as identifying himself as a thinker, as an object which thinks, not as a subject thinking. A further question could be asked, "Is the thinker attending to thinking and attending to that which is the object of thought, while at the same moment attending to the thinker (i.e., oneself) ?" If so, then attending expands awareness.

So, through dual attending, one is attending to the giving forth of individual energies and actions that are being expressed while attending to the energies and actions being received - a giving and a receiving. One consciously flows in the living energies of awareness - in the multi-leveled body/mind/energy consciousness. Standing in the portal, one is knowing thinking. In this knowing one can choose their thoughts, their creations.
