Portals are spaces that connect one space to another space. Portals are spaces that are in-between spaces. They are doorways of perception. A portal brings together spaces. It is a conduit for giving and receiving, a channel for the transmission of substances and energies, including you.
This website is meant to act as a channel for you and yours - your inner and outer spaces. It provides a means for you to connect consciously with your mind, your body, and your relationships as they orient in response to healthy and unhealthy life practices.
A significant difference between eastern approaches to healing the mind, and that of western psychology, is that the eastern approaches of yoga and ayurveda attend to and focus upon a personal practice of integrating pure awareness with multiple levels of consciousness. Such practices can provide for a fully functional integrity of mind, body, and the indivisible, individual intelligence.
The fully functioning integration of one's differing levels of consciousness is a portal of its own, a nexus of connectivity for healing the mind's enculturated programming of identifying itself as an "ego-self." Rather than knowing individuality, an ego-self is seeded in belief systems of fear, anger, jealousy and other toxic belief syndromes, which cause disturbances, distress and disorder. Identifying with these separating beliefs willfully disallows an understanding of the innate, natural flowing energies.
If one were to have a mansion with many rooms yet no doors, no windows, and no portals to access and move between these rooms, this mansion could not function as anything more than a mausoleum.
Portals are doorways, gateways, and connectors which serve as the containers of information, and also comprise the actual content of another level of information. They are the means and the ends, the openings and the exits. They are channels, they are vortices, they are particles and waves of light, and they are strings of energies connecting and containing information of intelligence.
Most people commonly identify with their self(s) as the containers that filter their experiences without experiencing the authentic and innate experiencer. They are caught up in experiencing their experiences rather than observing and witnessing them. Western psychology describes the ego as an object, and sometimes as a subject; it is nonetheless a continuing process of identification until recognized, understood, and healed.
You are a portal of life. When you are in the flow of consciously receiving and giving these energies, you are without fear, you are unconditional, you are whole.
Some Portals are:
Portals of the Body. (the 5 Jnanindriyas )
The five human senses—hearing, touching, seeing, tasting, and smelling—are, according to Samkhya philosophy, already in existence and manifest in the physical as sense organs. These physical organs perceive objects of the senses—sound, touch, visual, taste, and smell (the 5 Tanmatras) which cause the five Elements—space, air, fire, water, and earth. (This statement is worthy of contemplation and meditation.)
Portals of the Mind. (Attendriya)
As life force (prana) flows through the portals of perception it continues through the portals of the mind and the processes of emoting, thinking, reasoning, recognizing, identifying, imaging, and storing the images of perception, and their effects and affects of the image maker.
Portals of Consciousness: The forces of consciousness are in us and about us, providing the quality of life which is chosen and expressed through an interplay of beliefs, thoughts, images, and emotions which have been enculturated within western and eastern psychologies as:
- The ego – self (Ahamkarra)
- The asmita which is like a flap of canvas covering the portal through which the individual soul (Atman) perceives the realm of the ego-self. It is the meeting point of the individual and the ego self and its creations including the projections of the Ahamkara.
- The Atman is the soul, a smokeless flame, an everlasting light, and an individual part of the whole.
Social Portals assist to understand the interplay of the individual and egoic belief systems.
Energetic Portals. Understanding the energies of giving, receiving, and space assists one to appreciate that healing is always and only here and now. Appreciation without choice is only understanding. The will to choose, creates the possibility of healing. Choice is the key.
12 Portals of Understanding - a Template of Spaces for Understanding and Healing
I use a template of understanding living energy that I call "12 Portals of Understanding." Of course there are more than 12 portals, portals are everywhere because one thing leads to another, every substance is not only a container, it is also the content of another container. The 12 portals that I present I uncovered from exploring my own inner knowing, as recommended by Harvey the Healer. I have been using these for decades in my own self healing and share them with you and some of my clients to assist them in understanding and healing themselves.
